Unmissable landmarks, just a few steps from the Colomba d'Oro
Piazza Bra and Verona’s Arena
From the Colomba d’Oro: 1 minute on foot, half a minute by bike
The Arena, Verona’s best-known monument, is the largest functioning open-air theater in the world: from April to October it hosts concerts, dance performances, stand-up comedy shows and above all the very famous summer Opera Festival. The amphitheater graces Piazza Bra, the largest square in Verona, like a theatrical backdrop: it is a typical Italian square packed with cafes and restaurants where you can sip a quality aperitif or a local wine, eat a good traditional dish and lose yourself the view while admiring the Beauty that embraces you.
Castelvecchio
From the Colomba d’Oro: 5 minutes on foot, 1 minute by bike
The history and culture of Verona are also represented by the fortress which the Veronese call “Castelvecchio” (Old Castle). A museum full of Italian and European art, overlooking the spectacular fortified bridge of the castle, under which flows the Adige River in whose bend the historic center of Verona is enclosed. The perfect setting for photo shoots, the Castelvecchio bridge is one of the favorite places for lovers who visit the City of Romeo and Juliet as well as one of the most romantic spots to enjoy the sunset.
Piazza Erbe e Palazzo Maffei
From the Colomba d’Oro: 8 minutes on foot, 2 minute by bike
Piazza Erbe, the oldest square in Verona and one of the most photographed in the world, is an enchanted place where buildings, towers, statues, frescoes and architecture from different historical periods interact. Among the most beautiful palaces overlooking the square (and actually among the most beautiful buildings in Verona), the most elegant, Palazzo Maffei, has been home to the only house museum in the city since 2020: an art journey through ancient and contemporary masterpieces, giving the triple emotion of admiring both the art collection and the rooms of a Baroque patrician residence, and also enjoying spectacular views over the piazza.
Casa di Giulietta
From the Colomba d’Oro: 8 minutes on foot, 2 minute by bike
Simply the most famous balcony in the world: that of Juliet, from which, according to legend, the loving couple immortalized by Shakespeare conversed and declared love. Overlooking the internal courtyard of the Medieval Palazzo, an attraction that combines reality with the beauty of legendary fiction, between notes and love letters, writings on the wall and padlocks sealed on the door by couples as a mark of their visit, you’ll find the Statue of Juliet, a lucky charm for all lovers.
