Breakfast at the Colomba d’Oro is served from 7.15 to 11 AM in a bright room with medieval exposed stone walls, flooded with natural sunlight through large windows. A rich buffet is set up every morning with passion for genuine flavors and fresh ingredients: orange juice is real juice from freshly squeezed Sicilian oranges, coffee – the unmistakable authentic Italian espresso – is made with a blend produced by a local roaster, the selection of cheeses includes fresh “caciotta” from a renowned dairy in the nearby mountains of Lessinia. And of course fresh breads, homemade cakes, eggs the way you want them, and so on. Guests with special needs can always find gluten-free and dietetic products, both sweet and savoury. And for all guests who prefer it, a good morning is delivered directly to their bedroom thanks to our room service.
A secret garden as a lounge bar
After a day of leisurely wanderings, nothing sounds as good as a moment to laze, daze, and reflect on your day’s discoveries. Here’s the perfect place: sanctified and secluded, what once was the cloister of a convent is now an elegant courtyard-garden, and also our bar’s terrace. Inviting guests to forget the world outside, this is the perfect intimate hideaway to lounge in the shade enjoying an authentic espresso coffee, or experiencing time-honored Italian tradition of “aperitivo” sipping an Aperol Spritz or a glass of Valpolicella wine – a small privilege for those who love to unwind away from the busy sights and sounds of the city. Many of our rooms look out over this walled oasis, making this hotel one of the few places in Verona where guests pine for a room facing away from the city.
